Salary Range 41A: ($22.44-$27.28) per hour

Under general supervision and at the direction of the Sheriff/Coroner; to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, fixtures and equipment, janitorial services; may provide some direction for temporary and other work staff; and perform related duties as required. SENIOR LEVEL is distinguished by requiring specialized knowledge and skills to perform a variety of skilled maintenance and repair work in County buildings and related machinery and equipment involving painting, carpentry and plumbing repair. May oversee and assign work to temporary and other maintenance staff, outside vendors and contractors performing work for the County. An incumbent in this classification may be called after hours for emergency repair work.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required
Any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be at least three (3) years of experience in building trades and maintenance work.
Required: Possession of a valid California/Nevada Class driver’s license.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS 100% FTE in a five step salary system with advancement upon satisfactory completion of a one year probationary period and annual increases thereafter.
o Health Insurance: County provides medical, dental and vision coverage for employees with co-payment by employees, dependent upon family status.
o Vacation: Accrued at the rate of 6.67 hours per month, or 10 vacation days per year.
o Sick Leave: Earned at the rate of 8 hours per month.
o Holidays: 15 paid holidays per year.
o Retirement: Participation in the California Public Employee Retirement System (PERS), 2% at 62 plan
for New Members
o Deferred Compensation: Voluntary deferred compensation program offered.
