Adventure Guide- job post Tahoe Outdoor Adventures

OverviewAs an Adventure Guide, you will lead and inspire groups of participants through thrilling outdoor experiences, ensuring their safety and enjoyment while fostering a love for adventure and nature. At least two years of previous guide work is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidates. You must have reliable, snow-capable transportation. Mountain biking and bike knowledge are preferred but not required. Experience hiking in snowy conditions is required. This role requires a passion for the outdoors, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups. You will play a vital role in educating participants about the environment, safety protocols, and the activities they will be engaging in.

Responsibilities

  • Lead outdoor adventure activities such as hiking, snowshoeing, and mountain biking while ensuring participant safety.

  • Provide excellent customer service by engaging with participants, answering questions, and addressing any concerns they may have.

  • Educate participants on relevant safety procedures, environmental conservation practices, and the specifics of each activity.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively with groups to ensure understanding of instructions and guidelines.

  • Demonstrate leadership by managing group dynamics and fostering a positive atmosphere during activities.

  • Utilize time management skills to ensure schedules are adhered to while maximizing participant enjoyment.

  • Maintain equipment and ensure all gear is safe and ready for use before each adventure.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from various backgrounds.

  • Reliable "Tahoe" vehicle.

  • CPR training certificate.

  • Previous guide experience is preferred.

  • Excellent public speaking skills to confidently address groups during briefings and throughout activities.

  • Strong time management skills to efficiently coordinate activities while ensuring participant satisfaction.

  • A passion for the outdoors and a commitment to promoting environmental stewardship.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, for scheduled adventures.

  • Willingness to work on an on-call/as-needed basis.
