Seasonal Paramedic- Cal Tahoe Emergency Services Operations Authority
Responsibilities
Respond promptly and effectively to emergency calls, providing advanced life support and patient stabilization on scene and during transport
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to determine severity and priority of care
Manage airway techniques, ventilation support, and medication administration with precision and adherence to protocols
Execute critical care procedures such as venipuncture, injection administration, and aseptic techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Operate emergency medical equipment, monitor vital signs continuously, and maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities
Collaborate with hospital staff during handoff reports, ensuring seamless continuity of care
Drive emergency vehicles safely while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards, including heavy lifting when necessary for patient handling
Qualifications
Valid EMT certification with current state licensure; additional paramedic certification preferred
Critical care experience within hospital or emergency room settings is highly desirable
Proven experience in trauma centers, especially Level I or Level II trauma facilities
Strong knowledge of emergency medicine procedures, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
Skilled in airway management, patient assessment, injection administration, venipuncture, and vital signs monitoring
Ability to perform physical examinations with attention to detail and aseptic technique
Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks in urgent situations
Familiarity with triage protocols and urgent care procedures; experience in critical care transport is a plus
